Change a Vehicle Owner

Update ownership when a registered vehicle changes hands.

What you'll learn

  • Opening a registered vehicle
  • Entering the new owner information
  • Following the owner change status

Before you start

  • The vehicle must already be registered, and its last registration status must be Success.
  • You need the Can register item serial permission; otherwise Change owner is disabled.
  • Open the registered vehicle and go to the Details tab.

Steps

  1. On the Details tab, in the Owner section, click Change owner. The owner update form opens, titled with the serial number.
  2. Enter the new owner's information in the customer form: Email, Phone, Is a person, First name and Last name (or Company), the address fields, Sex at birth, Age, Language, and Consent for marketing, the same way as during registration.
  3. Click Register new owner to submit (or Back to vehicle to cancel).
  4. Back on the Details tab, the Owner card shows the new owner. Check the status icon next to Owner to follow the change.

Good to know

  • Change owner only appears when the last registration status is Success. If the registration is not completed, you'll see "The owner cannot be modified because the registration is not completed."
  • The form starts empty and does not look up existing customers by email, so enter the new owner's full details. The same required fields and phone number rules as in registration apply.
  • The status icon next to Owner shows Requested while the change is being sent and Failed if it did not go through (hover the icon to see the status). If it shows Failed, click Retry.
  • The Owner card displays the current owner's name, phone, email, and address.
  • After an owner change, the Registration section and its Download registration document button no longer appear on the Details tab: the registration document belongs to the first owner.
