Work with Service Notices
Understand service notices, see which serials and clients are affected, and start a claim when required.
What you'll learn
- Reviewing a service notice and its documents
- Seeing affected serials in stock and affected clients
- Creating a claim from a mandatory service notice
Before you start
- Go to Services and open the Service Notices tab.
Steps
- Switch between the In inventory and Client affected views with the toggle, and search with "Type service notice, item or serial".
- Filter with All service notices, Unresolved service notices, or Mandatory, and sort the list (for example Number of serials affected).
- Expand a notice to list the affected serials in stock (or the affected clients), or click View service notice details to open the full view.
- In the detail window, use the Details, In stock, and Client affected tabs. The Details tab shows the in-stock and clients-affected charts and any Documents.
- For a serial that still needs work, click Create claim to start a claim pre-filled with that serial and notice. Where a claim already exists, click View claim instead.
Good to know
- A Mandatory notice shows a warning icon with the note "Mandatory. As long as this service notice is not completed, it won't be possible to register the related item serial."
- Each notice shows how many serials or clients remain to repair (for example "3/10 in inventory to repair") and the date it has been active since.
- A repaired serial is marked Repaired with its date; if it was repaired but no claim is found, a warning appears in place of the claim link.
- Create claim appears only if you have permission to manage claims.
- Advanced options let you Export service notices or Export serials.
