Manage Your Cart
Build and fine-tune your cart before checkout, including handling superseded items.
What you'll learn
- Adding items and adjusting quantities
- Handling superseded item replacements
- Clearing the cart and reading the totals
Before you start
- Open the Items page. The cart (In your cart) sits beside the Item List. Your account needs the Can create orders permission for it to appear.
Steps
- On the Items page, click the cart button on an item row to add it. Added items appear under In your cart.
- To change a quantity, use the minus and plus buttons on the item, or type a number in its quantity field. Each item also shows its Set of value and the resulting number of units.
- To locate an item in a large cart, type its name or code in the cart's search box (Search an item name or code...). The sort menu (Recently added) keeps the newest items at the top.
- To remove a single item, click the trash icon on its row.
- To empty the whole cart, open Advanced and click Clear cart, then confirm on the Delete confirmation prompt.
- Review the Sub Total at the bottom, then click Proceed to checkout when ready.
Good to know
- Superseded items show a red X icon (Item superseded) and a swap button in place of the quantity controls. Click the swap button to see "This item has been replaced by:" with the replacement's code, name, price, and status, then add the replacement to swap it into your cart.
- Superseded items are excluded from the Sub Total and can't be ordered until replaced.
- Items that can no longer be ordered, such as Inactive items, show a red X icon (Cannot Be Ordered) and no quantity controls or price. Remove them with the trash icon. You can't complete checkout while they are in the cart.
- If your account doesn't have the Show prices permission, restricted items show N/A instead of a price, and the Sub Total shows N/A for the whole cart.
- The Advanced menu also has Download file, which saves your cart as an Excel file, and Import to cart, which replaces the cart with the items in an Excel file that has the same layout. After an import, a report lists each row with a status icon; hover over a warning or error icon to see what went wrong.
- Quantities can't drop below 1. Use the trash icon to remove an item completely.
- The line total for each item is quantity multiplied by unit price, and updates automatically.
- Clearing the cart deletes all its items and can't be undone.
