Roles & Permissions
Understand roles and assign the right level of access to each employee.
What you'll learn
- Assigning roles when inviting or editing an employee
- Choosing the invitation language
- How roles affect what an employee can see and do
Before you start
- Assigning roles requires an admin role (Retailer Admin).
- Roles are set in the Add an employee and Editing dialogs, opened from the Employees tab of Administration.
Steps
When adding an employee:
- On the Employees tab, click Add employee and fill in the Details.
- Check Send invitation with employee creation to reveal the Roles list and Language.
- Check each role you want to grant, choose the Language for the invitation, then click Add employee.
When editing an employee:
- Open the employee from the Employees list.
- If the person already has an account, select the Roles tab and check or uncheck roles. If they have not accepted their invitation yet, check Send invitation first to reveal the Roles.
- Click Save employee.
Good to know
- Each role controls which features and actions an employee can access. The roles shown are those available to your dealership (for example, Retailer Admin and Shopping cart manager).
- You cannot remove your own Retailer Admin role: the checkbox is disabled on your own account, and the system blocks the change so you cannot lock yourself out.
- Set the Language so the invitation email reaches the recipient in their preferred language.
